Surviving the Titanic Prediction

Problem Overview

The Titanic was a major cruise ship from the early 20th century that struck an iceberg and sunk. It is famous for its movie with Leonardo DiCaprio, but its crew also famously saved women and children while the ship was sinking, leaving those like Leo to freeze in the water. Given this, it has become a recent data science competition to use people's characteristics (age, gender, price paid for ticket) and predict whether they were saved on the titanic or not.

Dataset

Data was available from the kaggle website. Data with the outcome (did person survive or not?) was provided for 891 people. We were left to predict the remaining 418.
